Social and recreational support is typically funded from your Core Supports budget (Assistance with Social, Economic, and Community Participation). Some skill-building activities may also be funded through Capacity Building. Your Support Coordinator can advise on the right budget category.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government program that funds supports and services for people with a permanent and significant disability. Once approved, you receive an individual plan with funding allocated across three budget categories: Core, Capacity Building, and Capital Supports. You choose how and with whom you use your funding.
To be eligible you generally need to be under 65 years of age, an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or Protected Special Category Visa holder, and have a permanent disability that significantly affects your daily life. You can check eligibility at ndis.gov.au or call us — our team will help you understand your options at no cost.
